Rapture

They watched in anger as the pious crowd brutalized the young men while shouting vulgarities and invoking the Almighty. It was obvious that over the centuries the people's devotion had been perverted into this bloodlust. And they had finally had enough. Once they saw the ropes being strung up they broke their edict, showing themselves. They could no longer wait until death had come to do their task, they would end these atrocities now. As they descended from above, like birds of prey, some swooped the tortured youths from the clutches of their persecutors, carrying them off to safety, while others turned their attention to the fleeing mob.

I am not a religious person. Perhaps that is why, despite numerous suggestions over the years, I had never before been compelled to do an angel painting. That changed after hearing news of torture and public hangings of gays around the world, all in the name of God. Though not a believer myself, I cannot imagine anything more horrifying for a true person of faith than for their own beliefs perpetuating violence or instigating prejudice against others.

This Painting is from Michael Bryette ... it is his newest and one of his, in my opinion, best artworks. Please check out his site and enjoy some fantastic art!

The Good and the Ugly

First the Good....
Will Phillips is eleven. He wants to be a lawyer when he grows up. And he knows gay people.
it's because of his family's friendships with gay people that Will and his family have become straight allies for the LGBT community. They go to Pride parades, stand up for their LGBT neighbors and are upset that the right to marry and adopt are not available to the gay community.
With all that he's seen, Will saw a problem with the Pledge of Allegiance.
After asking his parents whether it was against the law not to stand for the pledge, Will decided to act, and on October 5th, when the other kids in his class stood up to recite the pledge of allegiance, he stayed seated. The teacher, a substitute that day, tried to get him to stand, but he refused. And he refused the next day, too.
“She got a lot more angry and raised her voice and brought my mom and my grandma up...I was fuming and was too furious to really pay attention to what she was saying. After a few minutes, I said, ‘With all due respect, ma'am, you can go jump off a bridge.' ”
He was sent to the principal's office, who called his mother. And when she learned that her son was being punished for refusing to stand for the pledge--something even the principal admitted was within the boy's rights--she demanded that the teacher apologize to her son.
The principal did not agree.
Well, word got around about the eleven-year-old Arkansas boy who won't stand until there is "liberty and justice for all."

And now the UGLY.....

The Catholic Archdiocese of Washington D.C. announced on Wednesday that it will be unable to continue the social service programs it runs for the District if the city doesn't change a proposed same-sex marriage law.
That's right. The Catholics will take away all the aid, both financial and otherwise, to homeless shelters, adoption agencies, and health care, if the gays in D.C. can get married. see, if marriage equality happens in D.C. the church might then be forced to work with gay people and they won't have that.
How fucking Christlike. But why else can we expect from a church that pays off victims of child abuse and hides away pedophiles in their own midst.
How dare they call themselves men and women of God, when they seek to punish innocent bystanders because of a law they don't like?

Thank You Mr President!

Thanks to a real President that cares enough to visit disabled veterans on Veterans Day. We finally have someone in the Whitehouse that recognizes and supports our Vets. I wish more people would recognize and understand what we go thru every day.

Home

Well, it feels good to be back home! For any that dont know, I was in the hospital for 8 days ... 4 in icu and 4 in a room. High blood pressure led to a few complications including internal bleeding was what happened. Thank God for the VA! They were fantastic. From the moment I arriaved at the ER till I was in a bed was less than 2 hours. Everyone was soooo great and nice. I had tons of tests from cat scans to endoscopes to colonoscopy's, not to mention a few pints of blood tests. Now it is just a matter of getting used to no salt or sugar in my food... should help loose weight LOL!
THANK YOU EVERYONE at the Tampa VA Hospital!!!

RIP TEDDY KENNEDY

EDWARD M. KENNEDY
February 22, 1932 – August 25, 2009

“The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dreams shall never die”

The media and most blogs are covering this. We need not only to pray for his family but for the entire country as we have lost a major voice for rights and equality of all.

Daniel Radcliffe and the Trevor Project

Harry Potter and Equus star Daniel Radcliffe has made a major donation to The Trevor Project, the non-profit organization that operates the only nationwide suicide-prevention helpline for LGBTQ youth, the group announced today:
"The 20-year-old actor joined The Trevor Project’s Circle of Hope, a community of major donors which plays an essential role in providing the financial leadership that makes the organization’s lifesaving work possible."
Said Radcliffe: “I am very pleased to begin my support of The Trevor Project, which saves lives every day through its critical work. It's extremely distressing to consider that in 2009 suicide is a top three killer of young people, and it's truly devastating to learn that LGBTQ youth are up to four times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers. I deeply hope my support can raise the organization's visibility so even more despondent youth become aware of The Trevor Helpline's highly trained counselors and Trevor’s many other resources. It's vitally important that young people understand they are not alone and, perhaps even more important, that their young lives have real value.”
Said Charles Robbins, executive director and CEO of The Trevor Project: "We’re incredibly grateful to Daniel for his truly inspiring and historic generosity and support. He is setting a meaningful example for millions of young people around the world by embracing diversity and demonstrating that he cares deeply about the well-being of LGBTQ youth."
Yeah for Daniel! We need more great people like him.

Keiron Williamson ...7 year old artist

A six-year-old Holt youngster is taking the Norfolk England art scene by storm, with his stunning paintings of Norfolk scenes due to go on show this week at a professional gallery.

Until just over a year ago, Holt Primary School pupil Kieron Williamson had never picked up a paintbrush, preferring to play football and ride his bike.

But, inspired by the landscape while on holiday with his family in Devon and Cornwall last May, he began drawing boats in a children's sketchbook.

"Kieron is a typical boy who goes at about 200 miles an hour," said mum Michelle."He had never taken the slightest interest in art, but, after we went on holiday, he just started drawing all the time."

Kieron's talent was spotted by family friend, local artist and gallery owner Carol Ann Pennington, who runs The Last Picture Show in Town on Cromer Road. She offered to give him art lessons over the summer holidays, also providing canvases and paints.

Kieron has produced pictures of Burnham Overy Staithe, Kelling, Venice, Cley and Morston, as well as working at home from books and art magazines donated by Picturecraft and learn-to-paint videos.

His latest work includes pet portraits and a series of studies of Holt landmarks including the town's war memorial, Gresham's Pre-prep School, and the Owl Tea Rooms.

Kieron said: "I like painting Morston best because of the boats, and because it's got a little estuary at low tide."

Not bad for a 7 year old. Hope he continues.

Some thoughts .....

It’s hard to put into words the feelings I’ve been experiencing lately…
I have worked for 2 gay chats sites … both owners were either less than honest or lacking in integrity to the point that I could no longer stay. I have recently gone back to visit the some of the models that are left, to give them some support. We were all friends when I worked there, and most of us still are. In the most recent visit I was greeted with being told how much the owner enjoyed using me and later a moderator gave a very smart ass remark to a suggestion that would help the site.I know when my work is not appreciated and I won’t be back.

I have received several e-mails asking me to open my own site. If I had the cash I would. But it is very expensive and takes a lot more time than I can put into it with my job.

I was planning on going to NY this summer … but I guess that is off also. I don’t know what went wrong with the plans but since I can’t get any response … I’ll save the money and stay home.

I don’t want this to sound like a pity me thing… I just need to vent a bit. When you spend years trying to build a site and friendships, it isn’t easy to jsut walk away.
I want to wish the models all the best and hope they do well in the future. I also would like to keep the friendships that were made with chatters and models.

Young Lives Lost

Where are all the "good Christians"? The basic premise of Christianity is love and caring. If you don't care about your own children .. how can you be a Christian? If someone cared about these people they would still be here. The pictures at the beginning of the vid are all Great people that were murdered and most because of Christian religious bigotry. The real terrorists in the US are the fundamentalist right wing religious fanatics. Our young people are being murdered in the name of bigotry based on mis-guided religious teachings. One of the biggest causes of teen suicide is rejection by "christian parents"
Christ condemned bigotry and hatred but encouraged love and caring ... If you call yourself a christian why don't you follow the teachings of Christ? If you are a victim of bigotry and hatred before you do something extreme .. click on the link in the column on the right 'I'm glad I Failed' .. People DO care and People will help.

Muttramony - The Destruction of "Famiy Values"

As a prelude to this coming weekend's Woofstock festival, organizers arranged the Woofstock Doggie Weddings High Tea at the King Edward Hotel yesterday. The puntastic event—hosted by comedian Laurie Elliott—brought together doggy couples who wanted to prove their "commuttment" by taking their "bow vows." Each canine couple received a blessing from Reverend Dr. John Joseph Mastandrea and a certificate of "muttrimony". This will really get some of the 'religious right' upset! LOL "Muttrimony will destroy the American Family Values" will be the cry!
