WATCH OUT is the story of Jonathan Barrows, “Professor of Intelligent thinking." Abandoned since birth on an alien planet called "Earth," Barrows travels West by train to Benton Harbor, Michigan -- a town with "a well-deserved inferiority complex" -- in search of the Unholy Grail -- a teaching position at Benton Harbor Community College ("the only college that would grant Me an interview"). Able to love and desire only himself, Jonathan Barrows finds himself surrounded and hounded by the residents of Benton Harbor and inexorably descends into a world of lunatics. Every human being, according to Barrows, is a form of nourishment. But who will end up being devoured?

Gay Weddings.. Good for the Economy?

Gay weddings are a huge boon to the economy in California... just think weddings by same-sex couples will have a positive impact on the state budget of approximately $64 million over the next three years. Sales and occupancy tax revenues from wedding related expenses by both in-state and out-of-state couples will total over $55.1 million. In addition, same-sex weddings will generate $8.8 million in marriage license fees for California counties. Imagine if that were applied to every state's budget. The Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law just released the results of a new study [download PDF] that shows legalizing gay marriage was the best thing California could have done for its own economy.
