RIP TEDDY KENNEDY

EDWARD M. KENNEDY
February 22, 1932 – August 25, 2009

“The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dreams shall never die”

The media and most blogs are covering this. We need not only to pray for his family but for the entire country as we have lost a major voice for rights and equality of all.

Daniel Radcliffe and the Trevor Project

Harry Potter and Equus star Daniel Radcliffe has made a major donation to The Trevor Project, the non-profit organization that operates the only nationwide suicide-prevention helpline for LGBTQ youth, the group announced today:
"The 20-year-old actor joined The Trevor Project’s Circle of Hope, a community of major donors which plays an essential role in providing the financial leadership that makes the organization’s lifesaving work possible."
Said Radcliffe: “I am very pleased to begin my support of The Trevor Project, which saves lives every day through its critical work. It's extremely distressing to consider that in 2009 suicide is a top three killer of young people, and it's truly devastating to learn that LGBTQ youth are up to four times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers. I deeply hope my support can raise the organization's visibility so even more despondent youth become aware of The Trevor Helpline's highly trained counselors and Trevor’s many other resources. It's vitally important that young people understand they are not alone and, perhaps even more important, that their young lives have real value.”
Said Charles Robbins, executive director and CEO of The Trevor Project: "We’re incredibly grateful to Daniel for his truly inspiring and historic generosity and support. He is setting a meaningful example for millions of young people around the world by embracing diversity and demonstrating that he cares deeply about the well-being of LGBTQ youth."
Yeah for Daniel! We need more great people like him.

Keiron Williamson ...7 year old artist

A six-year-old Holt youngster is taking the Norfolk England art scene by storm, with his stunning paintings of Norfolk scenes due to go on show this week at a professional gallery.

Until just over a year ago, Holt Primary School pupil Kieron Williamson had never picked up a paintbrush, preferring to play football and ride his bike.

But, inspired by the landscape while on holiday with his family in Devon and Cornwall last May, he began drawing boats in a children's sketchbook.

"Kieron is a typical boy who goes at about 200 miles an hour," said mum Michelle."He had never taken the slightest interest in art, but, after we went on holiday, he just started drawing all the time."

Kieron's talent was spotted by family friend, local artist and gallery owner Carol Ann Pennington, who runs The Last Picture Show in Town on Cromer Road. She offered to give him art lessons over the summer holidays, also providing canvases and paints.

Kieron has produced pictures of Burnham Overy Staithe, Kelling, Venice, Cley and Morston, as well as working at home from books and art magazines donated by Picturecraft and learn-to-paint videos.

His latest work includes pet portraits and a series of studies of Holt landmarks including the town's war memorial, Gresham's Pre-prep School, and the Owl Tea Rooms.

Kieron said: "I like painting Morston best because of the boats, and because it's got a little estuary at low tide."

Not bad for a 7 year old. Hope he continues.

Some thoughts .....

It’s hard to put into words the feelings I’ve been experiencing lately…
I have worked for 2 gay chats sites … both owners were either less than honest or lacking in integrity to the point that I could no longer stay. I have recently gone back to visit the some of the models that are left, to give them some support. We were all friends when I worked there, and most of us still are. In the most recent visit I was greeted with being told how much the owner enjoyed using me and later a moderator gave a very smart ass remark to a suggestion that would help the site.I know when my work is not appreciated and I won’t be back.

I have received several e-mails asking me to open my own site. If I had the cash I would. But it is very expensive and takes a lot more time than I can put into it with my job.

I was planning on going to NY this summer … but I guess that is off also. I don’t know what went wrong with the plans but since I can’t get any response … I’ll save the money and stay home.

I don’t want this to sound like a pity me thing… I just need to vent a bit. When you spend years trying to build a site and friendships, it isn’t easy to jsut walk away.
I want to wish the models all the best and hope they do well in the future. I also would like to keep the friendships that were made with chatters and models.
