Hoppy Easter!

First... Hoppy Easter/Passover to all! I hope your holiday is fantastic and safe.
Second...I'm spending the weekend getting ready for my Cataract surgery on Monday. Drops and lots of water.
Next... Josh, who was going to take me to have the surgery is out of town on business and won't be back for a week or so. Chaz has very nicely offered to drive. Since its at the VA they require a driver to stay with you the entire time.
Finally... The local 911 and county officials decided that all apartment complexes have to come up to national addressing standards and be completed by the end of April. That means each entrance area must have its own address and apt numbers have to be 100's on first floor 200's second etc. as well as the complex has to be on it's own street not the street the entrance is located on. All that means we have a new address without moving and a pain in changing everything.
This is my first blog entry done on my new iMac, I hope it looks ok.

A Special Day..

Today would have been Jeremy's 17th Birthday. His family and closest friends celebrated it at sunrise on the beach. Remember to show the ones near you how much you love them!

The Bridge

This is from Michael Bryettes Gallery....

Throughout our lives, when faced with turbulent waters, most of us will follow the rocky shore until we find that bridge that gets us to a better place on the other side. So it's a sad and strange irony that in moments of hopelessness there are some who don't seek a metaphorical bridge to get them over the rough seas, but rather a physical one to leap from, as a means of giving up.

The recent attention by the media to bullying and subsequent suicides by a disproportionate number of LGBT youth was the catalyst for my current painting. While I did not want to romanticize the act in any way, I felt it was important put the viewer in that critical moment.

What the F is going on???

Today Jan 24th, so far.. there have been 9 police officers shot....3 here in the Tampa area...Two of these are dead. To ad insult to injury, while covering the shootings live, our local FOX station took a break and ran an ad for a local gun shop. The ad said they were the source for 'all your shooting needs.' Talk about bad taste. They also broke the name of the suspected shooter, and his family members, while the police information officer was asking the media to not announce any names while the shooting was going on. Homeland Security and the FCC should take the broadcast license from News Corp and Fox for this.
Also a shooting in a Detroit Police station and in a Washington State Walmart.
It is interesting to me that these shootings and the 24 others shot in the last week, all occured after Ms Palins comments and the teabaggers took office. Last week a congressman from Florida introduced a bill to ease the acquisition of guns and make it legal to carry guns in college. Is this the kind of America they want? Do we really want more guns around?? The more guns float around ... the more the body count adds up. Palin's Wild West.

This Week....

Sixteen Years ago I began an experiment which became my Web site. My site is hosted by Badpuppy and I am very grateful to them for all their support.

Sixteen years and six months ago my nephew Jeremy was born. Six months ago he became an angel. He was well loved and is really missed.

A few years ago I met a fantastic young man. Ryan Meyers. He is a dynamo in everything he does. From working part time he went on to become a manager and in another area he was in a few videos... now he owns his own production company. The management position has come to an end but his company, Hybrid Boys, is ongoing. (there is a link on the right).

All of the things that I have mentioned above would appreciate your love and support.
Remember.... Pay It Forward!
